The tool works by applying a strong, even and consistent pulling force between the bottom bracket (the stiffest and strongest area of any bike frame) and the seized seatpost. The tool allows the use of different diameter inserts to properly protect BB threads and other BB surfaces from potential damage during the extraction process. The design also allows for different sized and shaped seatposts to be extracted as the clamp system is entirely interchangeable and can be used in conjunction with seatpost shims for the perfect fit.

Delicate frame finishes are entirely safe as the tool does not rely on heat or chemicals which commonly used and often reapplied numerous times in other extraction methods. Even the seatpost itself is often reuseable after removal as no twisting or other potentially destructive and damaging methods are used. The price for extraction includes a deep clean of the seatpost in an ultrasonic cleaner after removal, so it is ready for reinsertion and future use.

I can accept fully stripped frames sent to me or dropped off. I can then arrange sending back to your address or local drop off. I can also gladly strip your bike down prior to the removal of the seatpost and rebuild the bike again afterwards, if you wish, for an additional charge.

Steel, Alloy or Ti frame with seized alu post

For all metal bike frames with metal seatposts. £80.

Price includes:

  • All necessary preparation for safely using the tool on the frame and post (use of shims and appropriate BB spacers).

  • Safe removal of seatpost.

  • Full ultrasonic clean of seatpost.

  • Inspection of frame following removal.

  • Cleaning of frame.

  • Application of appropriate premium grease to seatpost and seattube.

Carbon Frame with seized carbon or alloy post

Removal of seized seatposts from Carbon Fibre frames. Carbon fibre often requires extra special care, especially if damage to finished surfaces is to be avoided. Seatposts and seatubes are often not round so may require different shims for safe extraction. This is reflected in the price.

Price includes:

  • All necessary preparation for safely using the tool on the frame and post (use of seatpost shims and appropriate BB spacers).

  • Safe removal of seatpost.

  • Full ultrasonic clean of seatpost and seatpost clamp (if applicable).

  • Inspection of frame following removal.

  • Cleaning of frame.

  • Application of appropriate premium fibre grip paste to seatpost and seattube.

  • Application of appropriate grease to seatpost clamp mechanism (if applicable).

  • Reinstallation of seatpost to correct torque (if applicable).

Seized dropper seatpost removal from frame (any material)

Removal of a dropper seatpost from a frame (any material). The ease of removal is dependent on how far inserted the seized dropper seatpost is into the seattube. If it is inserted all the way, the only place to clamp the seatpost will be on the stanction of the dropper post, which is not ideal in terms of limiting potential damage to the post during the extraction process. As a result, I cannot guarantee that the internals of the dropper post will be undamaged following every single extraction.
